I'm not going to tell you my age, but I'll start with this as a point of reference. The first few years of my life were spent on a northeast Kansas farm with no electricity or running water. I  have many vivid memories of what the "good old days" were like. Moved to Tulsa while in my teens. Graduated from Will Rogers High, then joined the Navy to see the world. The "world" consisted of Navy bases at Norman, OK, Memphis, TN, and Beeville, TX. Only ship I ever saw was floating in the harbor at San Diego.

Upon my discharge, I found a job with what was then Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, now AT&T. Retired in 1996 after thirty-four years of service. Bought my first camera, a Minolta, while in my twenties and I've been taking photos ever since. I've had the good fortune to visit numerous national parks and wildlife refuges as well as two foreign countries; Africa and Ecuador.

For me, photography is more than a hobby. Pushing the right buttons, capturing that  special moment in time, seeing the results pop up on the monitor, and getting that special feeling of satisfaction when it all comes together. It's

therapeutic, plain and simple. A walk in the woods with a camera can push away all of my life problems like nothing else, at least for a while. I doubt my enthusiasm will ever fade.
